ONE YEAR!!!!!!

Hey everyone, it has been a year!! I changed the main picture for when Ms. Aminah, straightened my hair, it was so great. I have to wait until the humidity dies down though before I get it straightened again. My hair lasted for 2 days!!!!...LOL!!! All in all, I am LOVING my hair. The products I use mostly are Herbal Naturals conditioner, for my co-wash. Lustrasilk Cholesterol for the deep conditioning, and Ion for protein conditioning once a month. For wash and goes if I don't want it feeling too heavy, will use the mixed chicks leave in conditioner. If I want it to be stretched out a little will use the Eco Styling Gel and Blue Magic, or will use Miss Jessie's, baby buttercream and curly pudding. When doing a blow-out two strand twist and twist out will use Created by Nature pomade. If doing a wet two-strand twist and twist out will use the Miss Jessies.

I know it seems like A LOT of products, but really and truly they all serve their own unique purpose!! Since I have met the year mark, I won't be blogging as often. However, since I have more hair there will be more styles!!! So I will post up styles as they come to me!!! LOL!!! Take care everyone!!

twist out, month 11

Month 10-11, One more month to go

Added a little color, and it keeps growing. A whole year next month...so excited!! Will have some pro pics next month...watch out there now!! For wash and go's I have been using the Eco Styling Gel and mixing it the old school blue magic. Stays strecthed for the majority of the day and is the best if it s rainy or really humid outside, because it does not frizz up. This pic is my two strand twist with Created by Nature pomade. I washed, blow-dried then twisted.

Months 8-9

I am still working on creating a curl pattern. One of my friends suggested Miss Jessie's curly pudding. I am still trying to figure out what allows my curls to remain in a stretched position the longest. Right now it seems the best thing is a two strand twist. That elongates it the most. Outside of that is just a bulky kinky twist with either Miss Jessies Baby Buttercream or Kinky Curly Regimen. This pick is with the Baby Buttercreme after a bulky twist out.

Month 7....and 6... :-P

Soooooo, I kinda let month 6 slip by me without posting!! Sorry about that, it just got away from me somehow. Anyway, haven't tried anything new lately. Still doing the twist out with the Baby Buttercream. I twist the hair at night before going to bed and put the buttercream on the twists before putting my silk scarf on. The gel, still leaves flakes behind, I do plan on trying a wash and go with the buttercream instead of the gel, and we will see how that does. Anyhoo 7 months

Hair Gel

Tried a new product last night, the Eco, Hair gel. Loved the way it made my hair look, really defined the curl...BUT, this morning, my scalp was so flaky where the gel dried. It looked like dandruff...yuk. I might have gone a little overboard with the gel, so will try to ease up next time, then will see if the flakes remain.

5 Months!!!

Hello everyone, so I am a little behind on my monthly update post. I had my hair twisted professionally, and I have posted the pic of the twist out. You can definitely tell how long it has gotten!! I am so excited. The next time I get it done, I am getting it straightened...duh, duh, duhhhhh, pray for me...LOL!! To moisten it used the Miss Jessie Baby Buttercream, my new favorite product. Take care.

Spoke Too Soon

Sooooo, okay, when I wrote the last blog I had purchased some Miss Jessie's Baby Buttercream online along with the Silkener. A little impatient I tried the silkener the day I wrote the last blog and was obviously disappointed with the results. This morning however, I tried the Baby Buttercream, and am HAPPY!!!! I am loving my hair right now. The curls are stretched more so you can see the actual length of my hair, and it is touchably soft without being GREASY!!! Yaaaayyyy, Woohoo!! So I will go ahead and gives a thumbs up to the Baby Buttercream. Oh yeah, and it smells good too. An extra plus.

While I have Expensive Tastes, My Hair Doesn't

What I have learned in this adventure, is in order to see what works on your hair, you have to try it. So, i have tried the Carol's Daughter products as well as the Miss Jessie's products. THEY DON'T WORK FOR ME!!! I don't know what it is, but YouTube is filled with success stories involving these products. I have tried the Miss Jessies Curly Pudding for instance, which made my hair look DRY!!! Nappy and dry in fact, and that is not cute. The Hair Milk by Carol's Daughter works occasionally, but can be really greasy. I like moisture but not greasy moisture.

Last night, I tried Miss Jessie's Cream stretch Silkener or something...disaster!!! My hair was dry and did not look like any of the pictures!!! So I stuck to what I know, Africa's Best Curl Keeper, $2.50 at Beauty World. Moist and curly, my hair knows what it likes!!!

Twisting at least once a month

I am trying to imagine my hair at a longer length with the two strand twist and untwist. So I twist it at least once a month to see the results. Yesterday I used Mizani, Rose Conditioning Hairdress, and the Wal-Mart Shea Butter leave in conditioner. Aminah, a hairstylist here in Greensboro who specializes in natural hair care said to try the Mixed Chicks leave in for a twist out. I will try that one next month and post results. Here is a pic of my most recent twist out. Enjoy and have a great weekend!!

The more things change the more they stay the same!

I did forget to mention that although my daily routine changes....well daily, my night routine has been rather constant. Before I go to bed, I use the Created by Nature pomade. At first I would wet my hair and then use the pomade, but now I just use the pomade. I feel like I get all of my nutrients at night!!! Alright, that is it for the day until I post pics!! Holla!!

Four Months..what I have learned

Four Months today, will post the twist out pics once I try it again this weekend. What in the world will reduce shrinkage. My hair has grown but it is difficult to tell due to the shrinkage. The last week I have been on the Hair Milk, but it tends to be greasy, perhaps I am using too much. Oh well, will have to try it some I guess. So far my winner is the Organics Africa's Best, Curl Keeper, it defines the curl, and it smells like candy, and it is not greasy!! I don't want people wiping their hands after they run their hands through my hair!!! That is embarrassing!! Will post pics later, have a great day!!
