My First Twist Out

I have been natural for two months and twenty days, and last night I tried the first two strand twist, and I liked the results! I did it as a part of my nighttime regimen but twisted it using conditioning gel. I wonder what will happen once I twist it after a good wash and conditioning? Hmmm oh well, pics posted.

More Product Changes

Soooo, for the last month I have used as my morning routine, Mizani condition for the co-washing, Carol's Daughter for the leave-in conditioner, Organics Olive Oil, dry hair and then Hair Milk. Well for whatever reason, this week my hair has decided to be dry by the time I leave the office. So I figured I had to change it up...oncest again. So this week after my weekly deep condition, I did this: I did my normal nightly routine, (stayed greased up...LOL) and then this morning, I used the spray bottle for water, and I used Infusium 23 leave-in conditioner, still used the Organics Olive Oil, pat dried hair...thennnn, I used the Organics Curl Keeper. So far so good. My hair looks and feels moist and nourished and my curls are really defined, so happy about the results so far.

Changes

Man, it seems like my hair decides to do something different everyday. I haven't changed my routine for the last...week, but sometimes, the curls are so defined and luxurious and sometimes, the curls are a hot matted mess!! Today is luxurious...hehehe. My hair has grown, and I can actually start finger combing. I am so excited because all of the youtube videos talk about finger combing your hair. I tried to do it when I had to no hair and was understandably unsuccesful!! HAHA!!

I Stay Greased Up

Hello wanted to post once more before I went to sleep. I have this belief that when you go to sleep at night, it is the perfect time to let your hair "marinate"...LOL.. so that is exactly what I do. Like I said I put the Created by Nature Pomade in at night, Now this stuff is THICK!! I like it though I feel like my hair is like soaking up nutrients while I sleep...LOL... The Pomade is made with: Shea Butter, Olive Oil, Jojoba Lil, Sweet Almond Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Coconut Oil, Sage, Rosemary, netle and burdock root and then it has a scent of vanilla lavender.

Now, I can't tell you what the signifance of each of those things are, but I can tell you before I go to bed, this stuff is running down my neck a little bit...LOL!! It just all sounds nutritious and great for my hair so I figured I can't be doing anything bad by using it. So, at night, the pomade and a satin bonnett. The satin bonnet keeps my hair from breaking, and also I feel like it keeps the heat from escaping from the top of my head and aiding in my night juice marinade...LOL!!!I took a pic of my hair after applying the pomade. Night All, until next time.

After the new creamy crack...LOL!!!

Soooo, I tried the coconut cream relaxer or at least a version of it. I left it in for about an hour and 45 minutes. My hair did come out softer and while it was wet was stretchier, but after my regular morning routine...(co-washing, leave-in conditioner and oil, towel dry, then hair milk) I don't see much of a difference.

I will try again next month however after I am able to get the right ingredients ( I used coconut creamer versus condensed coconut cream) I am going to see if using the right thing makes a difference, plus my hair will be longer....yay!!!!

My First Blog as a Natural Lady

I know there are soooooo many blogs now about natural hair, one thing I learned in starting my adventure is that people, for the most part start blogging about their hair after it has grown out a little!! Wellll, I have been natural for the first time for two months and it is just now starting to form somewhat of a curl pattern. I have tried so many different things after looking for things to try on YouTube.

I started out with jeri curl juice....yes I said it, I tried using curl enhancers that are used for the jeri curl...and well, that lasted for about a day, mostly because of the smell!! Thennnnn I tried the Organics line, which actually I liked a lot, the smell is fabulous. I used the daily Olive Oil moisturizer, the curl keeper and the olive oil. It made my hair look and smell FABULOUS... I LOVED IT! However, my hair would stay wet for like 1/2 the day, so as the weather got colder had to switch it up.

There is a wonderful lady in Greensboro named Aminah Lawson who specializes in natural hair, and she also has a product called Created by Nature, which are all natural oils, juices and berries....LOL! Sooo started using her pomade at night which is an extremely enhanced shea butter mix. In the mornings my present routine is conditioner washing, Carol's Daughter leave in conditioner, olive oil, (then towel pat dry), after towel pat dry, Carol's Daughter hair milk. So far feels great, smells great, looks different than the organics but still working on it.

Tonight....the natural relaxer from the lady on youtube (coconut cream condensed, coconut oil, and plain yogurt) duh, duh, duhhh!!!! Well a little altered, Coconut creamer versus the coconut cream concentrate...sooooo we'll see how this works!!
